Kylie what steps to prepare the greens to go into the tank? any heating or blanchin? and you use zucchini right? I have just been using veggie rounds from omega sea but I am interested in trying something new.

I would love to breed these, just am not 100% sure what sex mine is yet.
Justin, I just cut mine up and drop it in. They usually will start eating it the next morning ( I place it in the tank around 10 pm and then lights off and by sun up next morning they will start to show up on it)
Kylie, how big is yours? I will grab mine next time I clean the tank just to ID the sex.. it LOVES to hide underneath the wood, not on it.

I parboil mine, which causes the zucchini to sink. Raw veggies float

thanks for the info, do you guys worry about pesticides or anything like that? is there any questions I should ask were I buy the veggies?

hi justin i use zuchini and cucumber .. give it a really good wash and clean. and if really hard i microwave it for 10sec or if a few days old it is softer and i dont worry . i put a skewer in mine to make it sink.. them and my other cichlids adore it.. i have ot put to in one for them and one for this guy ..

oops forgot i put mine in at night and remove what ever is left in the morning usually nothing lol..

hey tang o he is about 3 to 4 inches i have three smaller one beween 1 and 2in hoping one is a girl.. keeping an eye for for no whiskers lol
