They do if your tank is big enough and they are not breeding

would a 72 gallon be big enough?

I would try not to get a pair. Other than that you should be fine.

ok, is there any way i can tell the differences in the sexes?

How big are they? It is tough unless they are a pretty good size. You can do more than one and you could be fine, just have a backup plan if they get nippy.

they are pretty good size, probly around 4 inches. they are mixed with malawis right now in a tank that is smaller than mine... its kinda crowded in the tank they are in

i love these guys. i have a yellow one and am thinking about getting another. there are a few malawis in my tank and they get along fine with him except for a snow white socofoli, but the snow white doesnt gee haw with most of the fish in the tank. the only fish i saw him fight with so far was a parrot fish and he left the parrot fish alone after he saw he couldnt bully him. other than that, he's just terrotorial and does some chasing....the snow white that is, and the leleupi gets chased some, but that's just when he gets in territory he's not suppose to be in.
