If I had to take a guess, I would say male. Don't carve that in stone though until the more knowledgeable people answer you.

i bought two gts since months ago and you can totally tell the diff in gender. male would have bright orange fin and tips of tail along with a hump on forehead that would stick out.compare it to a male jd. brighter body green, orange around the gills would be male. try to take a better shot so he/she would be better determined.

Im still thinking male, he has the really great shimmer to his body, and his back fin has the wider band of orange. The females tend to me more dull in color, except for their faces. I hope i could have been of some help.

i'm going to side with karrie on this one. not all males will develope humps. like karrie said, look at the fins. not only the length and amount of orange, but the amount of marbling in them. females have little or none.

what do you feed him?

I trust that this should be a male, cause I have never come across with such a big (7") female before no matter how long I've had them. The coloring resulted on this male would probably due to him not being the most dominate male in the tank. Hopefully this help :)

i know this is an old post, but i would like to say that this is a female. females can have great fin color . best way to find out with a fish that size is the dorsal fin will be greenish color on females and blueish on males.
