Justin, thats the best colored JD female I ever saw, if not the gills full of irridescent lines and dots , I would say it's a male

The one we think is female is attacking everything in tank except breeding convicts . buts its not like display attack it more nasty than that! Its a big tank so will have to keep an eye out

Alex if you read this then answer me question , Which of the 2 would be the one to tail bash and shiver and vibrate of the 2 as its the dark one its also getting hump on head and i am sure it has tube coming out which is pointed and slim like male ! could they be back to front from what we thought ? The big one has thick tube looks more like egg tube so will shortly find out i reconj as dark one is cleaning rocks and very teritorial

Too much color for the female, and not too much color for the male. Hmmm. Seems that I made a mistake after seeing more then thousand JD's (not too bad because you know I had doubts,lol).Just earlier today I says that I never saw more colorful JD female , and here it is. It's always something to learn.
Now be careful, female are very agro when breeding, and ur male is allot smaller (he'll catch up fast though)

he is growing like half inch a week ! was small than Jewel week ago now edges it turned nasty too not like mock nasty but real intent which is something as before added big one was really placid! Thanks for getting back to me it certainly keeps me glued to glass (much to girlfriends annoyance)

Goes to show what i know went out to but male for female and PROB (confusing lol) got female for male!!! swapped Buttik for GT so my tank now has 2 pairs breeding Convicts pair Jewels pair JD pair Acaras Blue and pair Parrots with catfish so about right now
