Very Nice fish. I was thinking about getting a few of these. How is he with his tank mates? Oh and thanks for that comment on my Zebra Tilapia. I looked into and I guess he was just shy, he is lively and great.

Joe, I would warn against getting M.auratus unless you have at least a 6' tank and PLENTY of hiding spaces. These guys don't get their reputation as being the most aggressive Mbuna for nothing. A lot of people get them when they are juveniles only to find dead fish in their tanks as they get closer to maturity.

Oh yeah, and if its going in the tank with the Ahli, then its a definite no go in my opinion. I've been down that road before. :(

very nice fish! how big is it? males turn a blackish color and females will stay the color of yours,so depending on the size as to what you have. We have some and they are very mean but ours has not killed any fish in the 30 or when we upgraded to a 55 gal.soon they will be in a150 gallon tank.
