it's prob the beggins of pop eye. I've seen it left it untreated and have see it go away with extra water changes. Granted it was just the very beggings of a symptom. I've also have seen it get real bad with out proper care, I would medicate for popeye I've also read cichlids are more pron to get it if the PH is not correct.

do you think my ph is too high or Low?

its prob. not popeye, its prob. just from poor water quality. Do some water changes, about 10 to 15% for a week, and then see what happens. If your ph is to high, the fish would have black coloration on its skin. You can treat with a broad spectrum anti-biotics, just to be on the safe side.

i'd say it's net damage . if you use a little salt & novaqua or something that has an artificial slime coat he will do good . water change will never hurt. but keep an eye on it since he's new .

AF you need to watch the new ones. They can cause major damage. Do you isolate them when you get them?
