Nice looking Fish and good Pic. nice phone.
Sciaenochromis Fryeri"Iceberg" actually.
The common(mistaken) name in pet stores is the Ahli, but these are no longer available to the Public. they banned the taking of the Ahli many years ago.It is extremely rare to find Ahli available and then only from a few Private breeders.. Some guy in Texas has some(from what I read) and sells some every few years but not very many..

Vince Cooper (m) » posted 2009/10/04 09:30 am
this is a S. Fryeri but this isn't an iceberg either .the blaze goes all the way down to the lip & the over all color is a lighter blue like "ice" .http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=1333....

The guy at the store said he was some type of peacock..
tony henderson » posted 2009/10/04 10:18 pm
it can be confusing in this case visually sometimes called a peacock, technically a haplochromis species if that makes sence
Katrina Damian » posted 2009/10/04 10:21 pm
SOo its not a fryeri?
Dane Daley » posted 2009/10/04 10:26 pm
It is a fryeri Katrina. Haplochromines is a broad term origanally used to describe the free (open water) swimming in lake Malawi that are not Mbuna. All peacocks are Haplochromines, but not all Haplochromines are peacocks. The fryeri isn't a peacock, but can be referred to as a Haplochromine.

Great expectations from fry....At first at the store i thought this was an elongatus. So i said give me that elongatus..Turns out its a Fryeri..
Pamela Pittman » posted 2009/10/06 05:10 am
No- mine are a little different- will be super, duper electric blue without the blaze. Cant wait- their dad is Rogers Blue Freyeri. He's awesome!
Katrina Damian » posted 2009/10/06 05:12 am
Cool! I totally need more of this species..I find them absolutely beautiful
Pamela Pittman » posted 2009/10/06 05:17 am
Ok. I'm having an argument with myself- don't mind me!! Mine *will* have the blaze. When you and I get going well with them in the future, maybe we can trade breeding stock females so we don't inbreed too much. I'm WAY behind you, though. Yours is ready, mine are the size of a fingernail ;)
