i say female but could be a subordinate or a younger male, matures dominant male develops the red hump that gave the species name, plus they have shiny green broad bands/patches on the sides with some orange as well, unnoticable on this specimen....red humps are maybe the most easily eartheater to find in fishstores here, in eastern Canada
