Noticed this female juvie demasoni mouthbrooding in my grow out tank! She and two of her siblings are still too small to be placed with the rest of the colony. She's claimed a pvc as her own and fiercely defends it. Ironically, her mother was an early brooder as well (she too produced fry while still tiny and in the grow out tank). The father is probably the larger male I exhiled to this tank.

If her fry survive, they'll be the 3rd generation born in my tank (this demasoni's grand-parents were 'store bought' in 2005).

Juan, the demasoni she likely spawned with is an unrelated male that didn't get accepted into the colony. He's been 'exhiled' to the grow out tank for his own safety (somehow the colony of more than a dozen sensed he wasn't one of them). When this female and the other two get larger, they (and the matured male) will moved to the demasoni tank (I've got 20 even smaller demasoni's that I need to place in that tank).

Update: She produced a mere four fry yesterday! Tiny brood but she's a small fish.'Great-grand fry' of my store-bought demasoni's.
