if its her first time holding they may get spat or eaten.. sometimes takes them a few goes to get it right.. she will spit them in about three weeks usually ..longer sometimes till they are big enough or she thinks they are safe..

sometimes they spit them early as they dont know what to do .. sometimes they arent fertilised etc.. unless you have a egg tumbler dont strip them . leave them .. if you have a extra tank you can seperate her and she will spit them out when ready .. or leave her and if you catch her in three to four weeks then you can strip the babies out..mine spits them in the net when you catch them at 4 weeks.. best of luck .. are they pure or cross breed..

if you have a lot of little rocks they will hide in those to get away from the other fish ..some will get eaten some will survive.. i leave mine in and lots survive .. up to you .. you can get a fry trap to hang on the side to put them in ..

What Kylie means by "spit" is when the eggs hatch in the moms mouth, and the mom feels it is safe enough, or the fry get too big, she will open her mouth and let the babies swim out. Do you have a picture of your male auratus? Also.. If these fish are your babies, like they are to most of us on the site, lol, then that makes you a grandfather!! Congrats!!
