common guys, you all read the same doc,the one I forward to yo! guess John have more Bacardi then Chuck:)
Yeah, 5 subspecies, but some scientist questions that it's not....
I am not in position to judge, but IMO they are different.
BTW, John's Cuban is a male and my female, so the color pattern is different.

John Young » posted 2008/04/08 - 03:18
Alex, wish You could see how this guy looks in the tank,He is light blue and pattern is more black than brown.I believe the blue may come from the background
Alex Odesit » posted 2008/04/08 - 03:36
*Juan, something better = jail time!
*John, I am sure, it is a very nice looking fish, Cuban change coloration dramatically depending of lights, mood, food, etc. I am really considering to get the male from Jeff R or may be trade for Paratheraps breidohri

John Young » posted 2008/04/08 - 03:43

Alex Odesit » posted 2008/04/08 - 03:45

48 x 18 x 29 from Perfecto

Good deal man!Perfecto has good tank these days:)

I try to squeeze as much volume to limited space, prolly going to go with pre drilled tank with build in overflow box, and wet/dry filtration. Will cost more money, but save on space and easy maintains. Besides wet/dry is number 1 filtration for large fish.

Alex Odesit » posted 2008/04/08 - 12:01
hey Chuck, I just learn about them recently, really like it. Powerful Paratheraps species. I always though about them as a Hartvegi...
Juan Damelines » posted 2008/04/08 - 13:43
Jail time my butt lol hey Alex i saw an over flow box at swap meet regretting i didn't bought it. When are you getting the new tank bro?
THE chuck » posted 2008/04/08 - 14:58
ALEX...do you think that jeff rapps can ship to Canada??
Frank Donato » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:04
Chuck, check out http://www.tangledupincichlids.com/stock.html . He does, but its mega expensive. $250 minimum fish order, and "$100 per shipment for US Fish and Wildlife paperwork clearance and inspections"

Crazy right? Do they really inspect every box?
Juan Damelines » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:05
Chuck Bonjour oui i think in hes page says he ships to internationally.
THE chuck » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:09
frank...yes they do...ill forget that!!!
Frank Donato » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:13
Theres gotta be an easy way to ship you some fish, aside from delivering them to Quebec via minivan :)
Juan Damelines » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:15
Frank is that legal?
Frank Donato » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:18
The minivan? Who knows, but if I put a couple of baby cutteris in my daughters diaper bag, and drove to Canada, I dont think they'd know ... :) I doubt they have "fish sniffing dogs" at the border or anything :)
Juan Damelines » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:27
lol mmmm sounds like a trip to Mexico to go get some fish!!! where do u live ??
Frank Donato » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:30

Cool Sounds like a trip for u to Canada.

Do u have a lot of cutteri fry?
Frank Donato » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:39
Not yet - ordering a breeding pair soon - I keep getting sidetracked with my tank setup ... baby and other responsibilities come first :)
Alex Odesit » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:52
Chuck, if I was you, I'll directly contact Jeff R and ask him this specific question. You never know the outcome. Don't get discourage before you ask bro. See, if you find any LFS store in the area where you live and ask if they want order large quantity of Jeff's fish, your fish cost you nothing, you know what I mean?:)
I know many people in Europe order fish from Jeff (where you think they got most of the rare cichlids), so why not Canada?
If you like, I ask Jeff for you, I made deal with him before.
Lemme know man.
Another option, you offer me a stay when we next time in Tremblant ski, I try to bring you some wet petsJ
Juan Damelines » posted 2008/04/08 - 15:56
