Corys
Corys
Some corys I grabbed today for the SA biotope tank. I've got several fish in the 120 now and I just got the filtration running yesterday. Seasoned media + seasoned rock + plenty of Bio-spira = no need to cycle a tank for a month. Woot! I am keeping a close eye on levels though. From what I have read/heard, Bio-spira is supposed to be the real deal.

yes most so called juliis arent really juliis they are Corydoras trilineatus . true juliis are hard to find . mine are false as well , but still beautiful

Are you saying my fish are lying to me? LoL! I don't know a lot about the corys, but these were labeled as Julii Corydoras. After looking into them online it is true that these are false juliis. The true juliis are spotted whereas these have connected spots. The true Juliis are more expensive and much more difficult to obtain.

GET MOSS so nitrate levels dont go up by the way Plants and Heros are not a good mixture!

I'm probably going to put peat media in my filters to leach into the water. I am wanting something floating to cut down on the light. I know about the plants and the Heros. The one I have in the tank now is just temporary as its not SA native. I'm researching to try to come up with some native plants that the Heros won't mess with.

Jave Fern, And other Java i can't think of name as long as for light try lilis or duck weed does are good and plus if u end up getting tired of them just dont feed ur severums for a day and they should be gone =] lol as far as the brown tint for the water i would like to see what comes out u go ahead and try it 1st then i follow lol.

I found out that they make a pete pellet that can go into a bag or media tray in the filter that will leech tannins into the water. I thing I'm going to give that a shot. I was definitely looking into duckweed as that's a native plant. I'll check into the lilies.
