Hi Jeff ... i really want to keep some Tropheus Kasangas (firecrackers) and i have been told that they need a tank of 100litres + (dont know what that is in gallons) but mine is only about 75 litres... is this big enough?

they have some in my lfs and they are about 5cm long at the moment ... if i can get them how many?

I was told that 75 gallons is the bare minimium for them and they do best in groups of 5 to 12. I guess they feel safer and it reduces stress on them. My tank is over 300 gallons and I have 8 total now and looking for more. In fact MLFS is ordering some "Moori Ilangi" and they should be here next week. There great fish and very active ...awesome color on them as well.

I've tryed keeping these many times,they never make it, very pretty.

What do you think went wrong Tina? I would hate to make the same mistakes you did or didn't ....who knows really you can do everything right and stll have fish perish. I now they need certian types of flake food and not to feed them to much bryne shrimp or blood worms because they can get bloat and perish quickly.

They don't like change Jeff,regular diet and when water changing make sure water that goes into tank is same ph and temp as what's already in the tank

DON'T GET INTO BUYING TOO MUCH. WITHIN ONE YEAR IF THEY ARE WELL KEPT AND FED PROPERLY YOU'LL START GETTING BABIES.
I BOUGHT EIGHT MEMBA FLAMES A YEAR AGO. OVER THE LAST TWO MONTHS I NOW HAVE THE ORIGINAL EIGHT PLUS EIGHT JUVENILES THAT ARE GROWING UP FAST IN THEIR 75 GALLON TANK. GOOD LUCK.
