cichlids.com: ChangeColor?

ChangeColor?

I got this fish 2weeks ago and it was brown w/ black stripes it looked just like a female since i put it in its own tank w/ some females of the same species its getting its male colors..Well anyway my question is will he get more colorfull or is this as good as he gets? he's about 2 1/2"

I have one exactly the same, ive had it for 6 months. Its mouth got alot bluer in colour but the black stripes and brown have not changed. My fish top caudual fin is turning dark orange. He is about 3 1/4 inches.

I have four of the same ones also. When I purchased them they said they would get color as they got bigger and older, but mine too its mouth also got bluer in color. I dont know what will happen. Mine are 3 inches each

as these fish reach full maturity (5-6inches), their color will drastically improve and they will also seem to develope more of a metallic overlay. nice fish. post updates when bigger. thnx.
