Found him dead today too much sexual tension in my tank. GT pair,festae pair and devil pair. i am totally bummed he was my favorite.

Thanks Frank you should see him under the lights. still on the fence about what kind of lights to get. right now 48 inch regular double bulb flourescent from LOWE'S

You've got that tank in-wall right? I bet that looks nice even with standard LOWES lights - since you can adjust the height and whatnot to cast shaddows. My light is junk, but unless you have plants, most cichlids dont really like light anyway :) At least thats what I keep telling myself :)

Yeah its in the wall i really want to get 3 pendulam lights above each section or get 2 36 inch flouros and I'll be done the corners are a bit dark. the crayfish is still living. one down one to go

Two still alive, going on 5 weeks ... :) What do you use for a hood? Did you do anything behind the wall to protect against water evaporating against the sheetrock?

i have a glass canopy. it's actually 3 separate panels

Did you do anything special to the back of the ball to protect against moisture? I'm debating putting a plastic barrier against the wall just in case ...
