Buffalo Head - male (?)
Buffalo Head - male (?)
Steatocranus casuarius
I'm guessing male due to the longer dorsal.

I raise them I put up a picture of mine last night with babies, but I call them lionheads. My pair looks like yours. my male and female look alike but my male has a slightly larger hump. You do know that they bond for life and when ones mate dies they will never pair up with any one again. It is hard to get a pair. You must buy them very young and grow them up together. Alot of times when you buy them from a store they were stripped from their mate. I bought 6 small babies wild caught and ended up with one pair that bonded and now I have babies. How long have you had these two? It took mine months to bond.

Dee...got the male last week and the female yesterday. Babies would be nice but I got them to add some variety to my tanks. I'll be happy if they just don't kill each other...or tankmates

They are very peaceful and funny fish. You will love them. They will not harm anything unless they do breed and then they will chase off anything that comes around their eggs and babies.

Dee...my biggest fear was that my Sidthimunki loaches would be a quick snack...but, so far so good
