Nimbochromis venustus
These are my friend's venustus cichlids (pardon the image size). The lone female (so far) had to be separated from the male, since he was harassing her too much.

Now, we are planning on one more female vensutus to ensure that the one-to-many requirement is taken care of. will two females suffice or should we make it three?

I am not good enough to even call myself a novice with africans and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance :)

Have they ever spawned?

Thanks Kylie.. I was thinking of that magic number myself :) I see the need to spread the love.. just wanted to learn how much is good enough.

Cichlid Storm: not yet... they had the time to just fight all the time..

had a surprise yesterday.. we put them back together and they have not fought ever since. but we are not holding back from getting him couple more eye-candies lol...
