This ciclid looks like a peacock, but is in fact a electric blue HAP.

I have the same fish but did not know the difference between peacocks and regular cichlids. When I bought it, they said this fish cannot be with the same kind; however, they could be with other cichlids. He is currently being abused by other males in the tank since he was the last one in the tank...

This is an exelent shot of this solid bleu peacock as i have electric blues myself and the fins as in dorsel fin is differant and to the one that asked about the best food well live food but as in dry the best i find as well as the cichlid socioty Sera flora hope this answaers your question.

thats an electric bue hap ahli. I breed them for many years. Some dont have yellow and white in them.

Sorry the fish above is not an eletric blue, its a solid blue peacock, eletric blue is slimer and more matalic like.

it looks like fish i bought other day from petshop . fish sold as electric blue..got male and female....my male has more yellow along rear-side and tail fin..i was thinking i may have aulunocara hueseri..will send u pics soon

thats a mad blue colour. know thta i have seen this certian fish,i now know i want one. its such a beautilful fish. I love the peacocks the best.

You Fools,the specie name of this fish is written under the photo Aulonocara Nyassae "Icy Blue Peacock".Their adult colour is always this striking, providing they have females.

The Aulonocara Nyassae pictured is a Peacock and not an electric blue as some have commented. Apparently named after the original name of Lake Malawi, Lake Nyassa. I keep them and they certainly can rival the electric blue for intensity of colour. I believe they are one of the sand dwelling Aulonocara.
