also, just picked up 6 Cyprichromis leptosoma Utinta yesterday. They are only between 1.5-2 inches but the biggest is already coloring up...I also picked up 1 full grown ink fin calvus, a 3 inch gold comp, 2 cylindricus, 1 leulpi, 1 neolamprologus beuscheri, 3 hecqui shelldwellers, 2 golden wonder killifish, 3 synodontis, a bubblebee catfish for $90! pretty good huh? I split them between the two tanks :)

work has been crazy this week....I am doing an overtime shift tonight (Christmas is coming...lol).

WOW!! You got a killer deal on all those. I'm so jealous!! Great bunch of fish. Did you get them from private breeder/owner or an lfs? Who/what did you put the killies with? Hope you get pics of them all soon, would so love to see them.

I did get a great deal and I even forgot 2 fish...there was a total of 17! I got them from a guy who wanted to take his 90 gallon down for awhile and was just looking to get rid of them.

Funny enough I really didn't know much about killifish and put them in the 100 gallon with all the smaller tangs and they were fine until today when the little utintas went in and they tried to eat them!!! I had to scoop them up really quick and put them in the 350g, but now the fronts are all attempting to nab them!!! I didn't necessarily want them but it was an all or nothing deal so.....

Oh I hope the killies make it. I wasn't sure that they could go with cichlids. Guess they can't. Do you have a 10 gal you could set up? Maybe even take them to lfs for trade or something? You really did get a sweet deal. Was the guy selling his tank too or just the fish?

well they lived in the guys tank for 4 years with them. Apparently they will try to eat anything small enough to fit in their big mouths and apparently the fronts like the way they look...lol. They are still alive though and I would have to take them to an lfs cause I am out of tanks...lol.

I will keep my fingers crossed that they will do fine with you. Would suck if you had to get rid of them. They are gorgeous fish.

Definitely protect the tangs first. Would hate for you to lose any of those. My fish are doing pretty good. Think I am going to have to give up a few that just can't keep their aggression in check. I have gotten two new ones, one didn't make it so went back to lfs today to replace him. They only had meanies, some auratus, bees, and comps. They had some peas left over from last week but they didn't grab my attention. I will go back next Thurs to find another, hopefully there will be a better selection. The other one is doing great. He is such a pretty fish. I will be posting pics within the next couple of days, I will include him. It's a protomelas of some sort (prob red emp, not sure though)

yeah that is why we decided to go all tang...because of the agression level of the male malawi fish (just not a good mix). I am glad we did cause , as you know, I just LOVE the tangs...lol.
