Michelle is his face black? If so I would guess he is a subdominate fish. From this angle he looks like a rubescens or german red.

Who is the boss in the tank? I think being subdominate is the reason for the dark face and lack of color in his body. If he was dominate my guess is his face would turn blue and he would get much more color.

The 2 dolphins rule the roost in the tank. Occasionally the Victorian salmon tries to be bossy, dosen't last long.

That may explain his lack of coloring. I think Rubin Red or German Red.
