The reason I ask is I have a bristlenose in my tank, and when I set up a bigger tank I want to get another one. The one I have now is ~2" long and has no "bristles". I guess I have a female. These guys grow so slow. I have had it for almost a year and it has grown only about 1/2" to 1". Does a great job cleaning the tank!

my albino bristlenose male really hadn't grown in the 6 months in the 10 gal tank (got him at about 1.25") now when I moved him into the 20 gal L he has grown nearly 1" in a months time (soo it seems)
