I have i thought that as tank was 2 meter and only few fish that by the time they get to few more inches i can get my 4ft set up for JD got to find a place to put it.
Who is in danger i thought they were ok together can you put me straight if not ? They were in same tank in lfs

Justin man, you must be kidding! These Butterkofferi is the most aggressive, nasty, powerful, dangarest cichlid in the hobby. It grows very fast all way up to 14 " plus, and yes, your JD as well others at your tank in great danger if you keep them together after butti reach 5 " plus, you may have couple of month thought.
FYI, JD is not nasty or very agro fish as it looks and many believe, they actually one of the calmest one when adult, and btw very easy to spook, that piss me off :(
They are no match to Red Devil, Midas, Red Terror, Texas etc. Best for JD to be with Convicts, Heros, Green Terror and similar dispo fish.

14" Jesus i was thinking of going for Oscar but that was too big ! so spoke to owner of shop and he said Butterkofferi got to 8" and were good tank mates for JD as long as desent sized tank ! I know JD are not overly aggressive just interestin same as others of dispo
If its a def that 14" is size then thats too big for tank anyway as i like to see a fish be able to swim not just keep turning
Think i may have to tell shop to stick up ar!! tommorrow then shame as them and fonts are my fav fish but just too big!! thanks for advice

Alex, no vacation yet. Just been very busy. Fiscal Year stuff plus coaching little league football right now. I do need some time off. Have a 110gl and a 20gl sitting in my garage waiting to be put to use.

*Justin, Butti is very nice, interesting fish, and you can have them at 125 g if compatible pair, but definitely no other tankmates, or 2 male. And yes, I have seen 14" several times. They are a real tankbusters and LFS owner who told you 8 " is a Full of Sh*t. Print info from the web and show in his lying face for misinforming you and wasting ur time and energy
*Shawn, coaching NFL:)? Then you can afford more then 110 g. J/K.
I left home for week and it was no problem with any of my fish, except one barb got eaten. So set up correctly and don't worry to leave the house.

Alex, when I come up for air (Nov. timeframe) I'm going to try my hand at African Cichlids. The 110gl was sold as a 90gl for $30. Couldn't pass it up. Going to put another bead of sealant in tank and build the stand for it. Is it Nov. yet?

Hi I a butteroffer I have had him for about 5 years he is about 10". He is horrible he killed all the fish in the tank 3 years ago and I have tried to put other ciclids in there with him. He has only let one fish live but he not aloud to come out from under the rocks.
